SS16/17 The Great Barrier Reef Collection - the making of our summer campaign

This is the most exciting time for the team at Coral & Co Australia. The launch of our first collection ‘The Great Barrier Reef’ is imminent. We’re about to explode into the Curve market with more presence, color and effortless chic than you’ve ever seen across the women’s Plus Size 10-24 fashion category.

The idea was simple when preparing our summer campaign; to shoot the collection to showcase its inspiration from the colors and forms of the world’s largest coral reef; the Australian Great Barrier Reef. And to set it against the essence of this beautiful country as a backdrop to show the world its vibrancy and versatility.

We wanted to make sure too that we conveyed the true elements of the brand, which will be the heroes of not only this collection, but all collections to follow.

Permanent micropleating offers a body contour to celebrate the female form, flattering the curvy figure like never before. A lot of development has been put into the fabrication to ensure it holds its form and retains its vibrancy; looking as great as the day you bought it for years to come. It’s a collection that is comfortable, that travels well, that needs minimal care, is trans-seasonal but most of all there is absolutely no compromise on style. The pieces are easy to wear, great for layering, and certainly transform those plainer pieces that already exist in your wardrobe into something greater.

They have a presence that will certainly see you stand out in a crowd, and they are timeless pieces that will soon become your all-time favorites that you keep building on each season.

On the day of the shoot, we had a small team consisting of myself (Robyn Storer; Owner/Designer); Nicole Onslow, Designer; Katherine Legudi, Production Manager; Jesper Nielsen, Photographer and our stunning models Karina Bruce and Chanel Fucile. It was a fabulously fun day, resulting in shots that so proudly represent our brand.
